It is my house. We decided to go and report the situation to the police, since almost everyone telling us we should.

I think the police will ask why it began in January and you're just now calling them. If it's different vehicles, are you sure it's the same person in all the clips? Very strange. I'd set up a game cam and try to get license numbers on each vehicle. These days, I wouldn't call him harmless, just because nothing bad's happened yet. Could he somehow be using your wifi?

It is the same person, he stopped with both cars next to me wife and he tried to talk to her. Same person, different cars.

We have the letter, with a name, with a phone number, so we can report him.

Probably he is just an old senile person, but I guess talking to the police wouldn't hurt.

Exactly. People keep telling me to "beat up the guy", and "jump at him and yell at him" and such. What if the old man is just confused or having a non-violent mental issue? It is a possibility. I don't want to hurt old folks, especially if it's maybe not a serious issue and the police can handle it peacefully.

Old man humor...we see things through thicker lenses...but in today's world, with so many folks DANGEROUSLY mentally ill, the idea is to take it seriously and let the police document it, and keep them updated, so that if late one night you have to shoot someone, there's a paper trail showing you did reasonable things to keep it from ever getting to that point. Worst case, you waste a little time. Best case, you cover your butt. If the LEOS aren't interested in details, it'd be worth it to you to not only keep the tape with datestamps, but also a written log with a lot of detail.

I would only add to dig a burial plot in your yard as he drives by and leave a bag of lye next to it. Once you know where he lives, ring his doorbell and ask him if he has ever heard of an Irish kneecapping. Keep the conversation light though and smile a lot. Impress him by telling him your QuickDraw speed.

When someone turns out to be facing something like this for real, they are usually already up set and may be not making best use of all their faculties at the time. It's easy to make a mistake that costs you. A lot.

I KNOW. I've just watched it unfold over the past couple months with someone you would think would have every advantage in the situation and they acted stupid as any one else. Put their self right in to the "trick bag" almost like they did it on purpose.

In 2000 I filed for divorce from my wife of 24 years. I knew it was going to be contentious and drawn out - just knew it. I was talking to someone about it and another person, listening to the conversation said he knew someone, who knew someone and wanted to know if I wanted her "taken care of". I squashed that immediately; as far as I knew I could have been being set up for conspiracy. There are some things that I never, ever joke about (especially when I don't know someone involved in the conversation) - that is one of them.
