So, I feel that my current Oldies folder is lacking big hair, loud guitars, and testosterone. I am only 27, but most of my first 10 years were spent in dad's car listening to classic rock. I don't know the names of alot of the bands and songs from back then, because I was too young to remember. does anyone have suggestions from the Classic rock era for me to add to the collection?

This thread could get lengthy. I consider myself to be a somewhat musically educated individual. There are so many bands to have. But I will start you out with the essential rock and metal bands, you can go from there.

It all started with Black Sabbath. Get every record they made, especially with Ozzy, Ian Gillan, and Dio. Then, get in this order:
    Led Zeppelin
    Deep Purple
    Judas Priest
    Iron Maiden

Once you have gotten through these and have built up a true appreciation for the music, get back with me and I will give you the next lesson my son! \m/
