Don't let the media fool you. Wendy Davis is NOT popular among most Texas residents and the legislation she supported was NOT popular with Texans or even Texan women. It polled poorly but it fit well with the media narrative so they tried to make her a hero.

She is very popular in Austin. Austin is not Texas.

What gets me upset about all of this are the democrats and middle of the road republicans the past few days saying that Cruz was just doing his pseudo filibuster for future political gain. If it wasnt for Davis's filibuster most all Texans wouldnt know who she was. Why isnt she getting the same treatment?

Texas has not voted a Dem to statewide office in nearly 20 years, and running someone with no credentials is not going to fix that. I am really surprised Dems are Ok with this when there are so many more better qualified Dems to run. This should be an easy win, as long as Repubs run a decent campaign and the candidate does not self-destruct like Clayton Williams did.

Exactly. Her filibuster had NO effect other than delaying the exact same result by a day or two, and building her "celebrity" status. Davis is a one-issue candidate on an issue that's honestly not real popular in Texas.
