Stopped by the adult beverage shop after work and picked up a bottle of The Macallan Edition No. 5 to try out. I have not consumed scotch of any type in a long while. I used to drink a fifth of Macallan 12 yo every night, gave it up after I was laid off of a high wage job. I must say I am not to impressed with this. It is kind of harsh, it may just be my taste has changed.

No my brother bought me a drink of the No. 5 at a Scotch bar in Denver, I was not impressed though the No. 4 was not bad at all.

I would describe it as if it were a bad run of everclear, with ground bits of glass and sulfuric acid finish. Not very silky as described in some reviews. But, more like scouring out your mouth with steel wool and paint thinner. Will NOT buy again.

I tried out Shiner Bock about seven or eight years ago. It's my go to beer now.
