Henry H009 Lever 30-30. I have RNL 118 Grain with 2.5 Gr Bullseye for rabbits, 170 Fed Softpoint for big game, and Berger VLD for one at a time long distance. Still working on that one.
20 Gauge pump 18 1/2 inch barrel short term defence, could use slugs, prolly use #4 shot
Kahr cm45ACP carry, very accurate and reliable
Kel-Tec PF9 backup, need to change this one, could not find an accurate load.

    Gunz are icky.
It depends largely on the owner and his individual needs.
A bare bones hunting battery will differ from a self defense battery.
1.) 12gauge of some sort. Pump action preferably.
    2.) repeating centerfire rifle
    3.) handgun - in .38/357 or 9mm.
    4.) .22lr long gun
    5.) .22lr handgun

I feel to be well versatile, a gun owner should have the following 5:
    1) 5.56 Rifle, preferably an AR
    2) 9mm handgun
    3) 12 Gauge
    4) Larger caliper rifle (.308, 30-06, 270, etc)
    5) .22lr such as Ruger 10/22

This is pretty much exactly what I told my wife we need just as a basic starter set.

When it mattered he chose the 45acp in a 1911
When it was for LE work in the 80's he chose the 45acp in a 4506 S&W.
If you like 45acp you probably like to pump your shotgun.
If you want to hit the target it's also nice to cock your pistol.
That man knows of which he speaks

To be fair it didn't really matter much in the lawless streets of Grantham NH.
