I took 7 rifles to the range Monday to get them sighted in with various red dots, prism scopes etc.... Got them all ringing steel at 200 consistently except my "go to shtf" rifle. Seems it only hit about 60% vs damn near 100% on the others.

I've decided to build an upper to replace the current one. I have a couple of 16 and 18 inch uppers, so I was going to go with 20 inch fluted barrel.

Any brand recommendations? Totally open for suggestions.

    Why the 20” barrel?

    Price range?

Anything features in particular you’re looking for in a barrel?

White Oak barrels are very nice.
To fill a hole I didn't have and a video I watched the other day showed commercial 223 and 556 only being around 3000fps or a little under. Seems a lot of stats are from 24 and 26 inch barrels to get 3200 unless it's true m193 or m855. I have a ton of 223 so looking to get back as much fps as I can.

I really like my RockRiver barrel. Will hold 3/4" all day with my shooting skills and probably under 1/2" with someone who can actually shoot.

    20" is cool.

Most 5.56 will easily clear 3200FPS from a 20". Virtually all .223 and 5.56 achieves a full powder burn from a 20" BBL.

For a practical 20" barrel an A1 profile is hard to beat, though if i could only have 1 AR, I'd have to go with my A4gery
