The biggest change I made was dumping the 9mm. I had brief flings with .270 and 7mm REM in the '80's, but had long since consolidated rifle loads. I just saw no reason for the 9mm. .45, .40, .38/357, and .22 covers the pistol range. I do have a .380, but it's strictly for CCW and I don't reload it.

Best answered in what I moved away from ...

    Sold all my 40, 30.06, 45LC and 380 ... guns and ammo.

    Keep:
    22LR - wife shoots in a league
9mm and 45 - 40 just didn't make any sense with both of those
44mag - side arm while pig hunting

    223 - plinking
    308 - hunting
30-30 - run in my dad's old gun

    12 and 20g - clays and birds.

    Currently I have 5.56, 7.62x39, 308 and 45.

Will be picking up a new 9mm soon, got enough ammo stockpiled that I need to shoot.

Too many, but I just can't consolidate. I like options.

I don't know that I have moved toward any caliber in particular. I have gotten rid of some and at the same time picked up others. That is not so much because I am moving or leaning toward using them more but because I've acquired another firearm in a different caliber. Right now I have guns in these calibers:

    22S
    22LR
    22 WMR
    25 ACP
    32 ACP
    38 SPL
    9mm
    44 REM MAG
    45 ACP
    5.56 NATO
    30-30 WIN
    308 WIN
    30-06 SPRG
    300 WIN MAG
    35 REM
    7mm Mauser
    7.62x39mm
    7.62x54R
    8mm Mauser
    16 Gauge
    12 Gauge

I used to have revolvers in 357 MAG but got away from them, maybe I should get another. Also had a semi-auto in 40 S&W but got rid of it and all the ammo for it. Had a 20 gauge shotgun too but got rid of it.

I have changed my carry pistol from a 9mm to a 45 so in that regard I guess you can say I moved toward 45 caliber.

Started with .45acp for carry and competition 8 years ago. Rising ammo prices pushed me to 9mm exclusively for several years, now getting back into .45acp a little bit. For rifles, started with 7.62X39, but now exclusively .223/5.56

I pretty much love anything in the 6.5 variety and shoot my .300 win mag AR. 9mm for pistols and 12 gauge for my shotgun. I’ve got the following:

    .22 LR
    .223
    22/250
    .243
    .257 weatherby
    6.5 Creed
    6.5 PRC
    .264 win mag
    .270
    .280 AI
    30/30
    .308
    .300 win mag

    Shotguns
    .410
    20 gauge
    12 gauge

    Pistols
    .223
    .380
    9mm
    10mm
    .357
    .40
    .45

    I guess I've gravitated toward 22LR, 9mm, 5.56, and 12 ga.

I gravitated towards flat shooting rounds like .17WSM and 22-250, but with recent turmoil I decided that I need to have rifles in a more prevalent ammo. I already have the 5.56/.223 covered, so I picked up the M10X in 7.62x39.

Still undecided on caliber for a long range rifle build.

The fact that flamethrowers exist is proof that someone thought “I want to set those people on fire, but I’m just not close enough to get the job done”.

I debated a 6.5CM for a while but was unsure due to ammo availability. When I saw Federal GMM at WM, I built one.

    Necro thread Jack

Is it a Falkor Petra or a Nemo Omen? I want one pretty badly, just not sure which.

Falkor Petra, Sphur mount and NF ATACR F1 5-25.

I hunt with it more than my bolt guns.

I run typically odd stuff compared to most but have officially kicked 12g, 308 and 40s&w to the curb for better options.
