I want to start the discussion about what we can do and/or create going forward into 2012 for you guys and gals. We have some things in the pipeline that we are working on, but I want to gain some insight on what it is that you feel we should be working towards.

Here's some questions to get the ball rolling, and please be honest and on-topic. No "I'd give away guns to everyone" stuff.

    1) If you had $10,000, what would you do with the forum to improve the experience for everyone? (Ignore Operating Costs)

    2) If you could change one thing about TGT, what would it be and why?

    3) Do you feel that TGT has improved in the past year?

    4) How do you feel about the look and appearance of the forum?

    5) Is there anything you feel that is missing from the forum?

    6) How do you feel about the current level of moderation and mod / admin response?

I also would like to get any ideas and commentary you may have. Please do not refrain from commenting ... and do so honestly. We cannot improve the forum without your feedback. Numerous changes have been implemented in the past years because of feedback from these kinds of threads, and we consider each and every opinion in our decisions.

1: if I had 10k for the forum I would use it to host events and maintain the servers
2: not much to change this place is too legit to quit
3: tgt has become a second home for me in the last year
    4: can't complain
    5: boobies j/k
6: best mods around plus I doubt anyone could do better

    1) If you had $10,000, what would you do with the forum to improve the experience for everyone?
Not sure on this one. What are your current operating costs like?

    2) If you could change one thing about TGT, what would it be and why?
Nothing right now, but I think we should always keep in mind that things could be better, and look towards other sites to see what kinds of things work on other forums. Maybe a beta version of the forum where new things are occasionally tried out?

    3) Do you feel that TGT has improved in the past year?
I've seen improvements in how it flows, and moderation (I'll say more below).
...not happy that I can't triforce though. ;)

    4) How do you feel about the look and appearance of the forum?
I'm happy with it. Maybe we can get a few more cool smilies/emoticons for some of us who have to put at least three little faces on every one of our posts.

    5) Is there anything you feel that is missing from the forum?
Kinda. I enjoyed the politics forum, but I understand that there's no safe way of having one of those without a damn e-brawl erupting every other day. I leave that to you admin's judgement.

    6) How do you feel about the current level of moderation and mod / admin response?
I think you guys are doing a fine job. You seem to me to be fair and just.
I've seen no bullshit from you guys.

Ok since I m a webhost myself and an ISP here's what I would suggest this

    1. Remove all the ad banners on top and put them in rotation in single size on top and right (right now looks too spammy)
    2. Change the theme colors to more bright vibrant in web2.0 style
    3. Organize local events, get togethers and small friendly competitions
    4. All of above rinse, repeat and grow.

    1) If you had $10,000, what would you do with the forum to improve the experience for everyone?
Can't comment on this without understanding your operations and finances.

    2) If you could change one thing about TGT, what would it be and why?
I've seen some forums with green/red or other icons to basically like/dislike individual posts.

    3) Do you feel that TGT has improved in the past year?
Yes, my Tapatalk works now Actually I think it was a problem on my end before.

    4) How do you feel about the look and appearance of the forum?
    I think it's fine.

    5) Is there anything you feel that is missing from the forum?

Maybe a store to buy shirts, hats, etc. There's some sites that let you upload your designs and people can come purchase from them if you don't want the hassle of becoming a retailer. You probably already know this.

    6) How do you feel about the current level of moderation and mod / admin response?
I think it's fair. People are given plenty of warnings and leash before getting the smack down.

    1) If you had $10,000, what would you do with the forum to improve the experience for everyone?

i think sponsoring some competitions in the 3 major cities (DFW, Houston, San Antonio) would be kind of cool -

    2) If you could change one thing about TGT, what would it be and why?

I would add the "respect" feature - it allows people to leave hidden comments - sometimes i agree with a user comment and want to give them a "thumbs up" or "atta boy" but really dont need to clutter up a thread with a useless post - its available on a couple of other message boards and is a handy feature

    3) Do you feel that TGT has improved in the past year?

i dont have an opinion one way or the other - it hasnt regressed!

    4) How do you feel about the look and appearance of the forum?

    5) Is there anything you feel that is missing from the forum?

    6) How do you feel about the current level of moderation and mod / admin response?

my one interaction with a mod / admin was poor and great respectively

the fact that the admin actually took the time to listen to my side of an issue and review the situation - was a very good thing in my opinion. Over all i think you ALL do a great job putting up with a bunch of over opinionated people! :)

Keep an eye on the FB groups and others. I've had a request to join in for quite a while with no response. I re-submitted today. I know stuff can't always happen in a split-second, but a fast response makes a good impression.

I'd consider a banner ad in some of the larger gun forums to increase membership. We have good people here, but participation seems limited at times to a small group of regulars.

    3. Organize local events, get togethers and small friendly competitions

We starting to do local meets in San Antonio and Austin. Hopefully we can branch out to Houston and Dallas next year. For those that like the meets come out and support them. The more we can get to participate the better we can make the events.

The only thing I would chantge/add is in the forum put in a spot for a chat room. I've been on other forums that have a title chat, click on it and it takes you to (I want to say) icechat program.

oh yes - an ARCADE/CASINO - some of us are time wasters with games......i think they're fairly easy to install/include

you could attach the frequency of posting to how much vcash you get to use in the casino
