I’m there. I was there to the tune of 180#s of ingots.

Unless you’re in with a buddy that’s hooked up with some tire shops it may not be worth your time.

I have a friend in cypress who has strong relationships with the Tire shops around here but it’s still getting harder to find lead to work with as opposed to buying lead to cast.

Lots of it is for sale on the interwebs. Some have easy access and make some ingots for us neerdowells to buy.

How much powder does it take for those big boys?

Not sure where I’ll end up since I just switched powder. I loaded 3 at 225gr and 3 at 230gr. Max is 239gr.

If my math is right and assuming no waste, about 291 grains each. Younggun is loading artillery shells evidently.

I rounded up. It was actually around .22lbs or so. Didn’t know you would come along and do the math, lol.

That I certainly believe. I've had some interest in casting but I'm not there....yet. If I cast, I think it'd only be with purchased ingots as I really don't see myself getting into the smelting part of it.

I’ve thought about casting buckshot but don’t really spend much time on shotguns. Just don’t like the higher cost and have everything else to load shells and can’t save enough to make it worthwhile with birdshot.
