Mail brought me 100 new starline brass for the bushmaster and the magnetospeed I won last week. Going to work up some loads to test this weekend. Plus I have some 243 loads to test still and have some 45 HAPs to load up and test. Family is gone for the weekend so I'm gonna get busy loading some test rounds. Maybe make a couple trips to the range.

Loaded some test rounds for the 450. Kinda winging the data but turned out good. It was fun to shoot. Couple guys next.to me where pretty impressed and wanted to try so I let them shoot a couple of the lightest loads. That was after I confirmed they weren't gonna blow up with the chrono first, of course.

Also loaded up a few different test loads for my 45 with the same bullets. Most with large primer but had a bunch of small mag primers so tested some of those as well.

Chronod the 243 loads and tested for groups, all grouped well so I'll look at data and see where the node is.

Also picked up a Glock a few weeks ago and tested it out as well. Still not a fan of Glocks or 40s. It may become my carry though.

Rolled up some 308 for Pop last week.

Made up a few test loads for my 6.5CM, hope to do some testing next weekend at the Farm.

Shot 20 rounds of my 200 gr 45 ACP reloads over 5.0 hr of HP-38. I'm getting closer as cycling was 100% but the cases still look scorched and sooty.

Think I'm going to load up another 20 over 5.4gr and see how that does.

I should have this load dialed in by 2025 at this rate.

I won a 3d printed primer catcher for my RC II press on a free FB drawing.

The original spent primer catcher was a joke and this little kit so far has caught 100% of the spent primers and anvils.

The only catch is you have to spin the ram around so if you prime on the press it won't work.

It sets up very easily and really makes a world of difference. If I had bought it I would consider it ~$20 well spent.

I just glued a magnet on each side of the factory catcher to hold it in place.

I didn't have an issue with it moving. Besides not liking all the junk on the frame from the primers hitting there they work around the front and fall on the floor sometimes.

I never had my primer assembly in but even with the hole plugged they would sometimes come out.

    And it was free........

I had some 357 Magnum rounds loaded from years back that would not fit in the cylinder of my revolvers. They seemed to have a little bulge near the head and wouldn't go in that last 1/8" or so.

Not sure if I didn't size them fully or if the bulge came during the bullet seating process. Either way I needed to do something with them.

Pulled the decapping pin out and ran them through the sizing die. They all drop in the cylinder freely now.

The bullet area was tight going into the die but measuring doesn't show any real swaging happened.

If there is any accuracy loss I will let Moonpie shoot them. He won't notice with his buckshot looking groups.

True. Lehigh makes an extreme penetrator and extreme defense. I am loading the extreme defense. Lots of youtube vids on this stuff but who knows for sure. There is a limit that one can get with .32 acp but I believe that this cartridge would be more potent than a fmj Fiocchi and is a mouse gun no matter what. For times I pocket carry and hope to never have to test it. Perhaps it is advertising hype. In any event it functions well in a Kel-Tec P32.

Damn! I was one coin away from being sub-moa!

Reviewing data from the chronograph and targets for the 243 from last weekend. I think I found a load I'm gonna run with.

Note: there really wasn't anything under the coins and this wasn't the load I was actually going with. I just think it's funny when guys put a coin over their "4-shot" group for size comparison

One of those coins could have given you a nice 3 shot group. ;)
I did 4 groups with 4 loads and they were all pretty much like this one. I did like this group because it's mostly spread on the horizontal and that was probably just me shooting. There was another group that was just slightly more compact than this and looking at the chronograph it was a little.more consistent. It was 41.7gr h100v behind an 87gr bthp seated to fit the chamber. The chrono was 2996-3026 with a SD of 11.0. The group shown was 42.6gr and was closer to 3110 avg and 30.6 SD.

The load data says I can get 3400 out of them but I don't really see the point. I'm gonna go back a load a few more being more mindful of powder. These loads were just dumped and weighed on the digital scale but I'll break out the trickler and see if I can tighten them up.

I set up my reloading presses in my new house. I have a Dillon square deal b for 9 mm and a Hornady LNL single stage for everything else.

Blasphemy, everyone knows if you aren't at maximum velocity and pressure then you aren't reloading right! That's the whole point of reloading, those books and manufacturers just don't push it the way they should. The way real men with one eye left and 4 fingers reload! ;)
