I won a Dillon 550 on Friday but traded it for a credit. Not wild about a manually indexing progressive press...

Then won another 100 gift card this morning. Bought some brass and bullets. Then won another raffle and chose a Lee APP. Eager to try it for swaging 223 and bullet sizing. Seems like a neat idea.

And what did you win it from?

I was actually looking at one last night after I sheared off the nub on the drive hub(part 29)on my LNL. If I wasn’t on the backslide age wise I would have done it.

For a progressive press I have a pro1000 and an auto breech lock pro. Not so much that I'm Lee biased. I'm just on pool guy money and Lee is cheap.

I win these things from a Facebook group. It's really the only reason I use Facebook anymore.

That would be enough reason to start using FB. In my case it would be just another place to be ignored!

I got to go haggle with hornady about a sheared drive hub. WOW, that was short and efficient. Sending it free, just like Dillon!

    pm inbound shortly

    120s, cast & pc'd, seated to 1.084.

Got 20 done then the drive hub nub sheared off. Flipping hornady. I googled it and several were able to get 20-50 rounds loaded before the new one sheared!

I'll call hornady tomorrow and get another sent out but if they give me too much crap I'll tell them what I think of them and their weak products and non-existant customer service. Hell, RCBS has fixed three sizing dies I've stuck cases in and the dollars spent on RCBS products is nothing compared to hornady dollars!

So, currently I have 15 rounds that dropin/out of my g17 barrel and 25 that drop in/out of my LWD barrel!

You should be closer to 4.0gr if it had a normal bearing surface for a 9mm bullet. I'm not familiar with that bullet.

Get a case puller kit and use more lube when you are sizing!

My two shooting buddies both have a 650 & 550 and both say they will each buy another 550.
Well shit. Maybe I screwed up. A good friend of mine said the 650 and 1050 were where it's at. He says he doesn't like the 750 or 1100s.

Hakunahh your tatas big boy! My ffl(one of the two)loves to bash my LNL. I loved telling him my new drive hub would be here by the weekend! Yeah, but you had to pay for it, right? Nope, gratis. Yeah, but you had to pay shipping, right? Nope, delivered. Suddenly he had to go.
Our other buddy has mounted a Hornady powder dispenser on his 550 but Will don't want to hear that shit.

Maybe on GT someone was asking LNL or 550 and I told them at my age and unemployment status I'm staying with Hornady but if I had a good job I pass my Hornady stuff on to a family member and go with Dillon.
If you plan to add casefeeder/bulletfeeder and stuff Dillon is the only way to go.

It seems like Will is testing my loyalty to my brand! Hornady used to be dicey on replacements but they seem to have woken up!

Have you considered a press mounted collet puller or is that what you are using?
I whacked about 5 more with the new collets and decided eff that. I'm gonna set these culls aside and order a collet puller soon. I've been using a gas rebate app and Just ordered some night sites for my wife's pistol. Once I have enough saved up again I'll order the puller and the collet.

rp-, when I started casting I sized with a lubrisizer but switched to PC shortly after. This reminds me I need to locate those rounds and load/shoot them.

Tested out some new loads for my wife's 380 and tried some accuracy tests with the 40 last weekend. Also got 2 of my girls out shooting the 380. Both did good but one was done after one mag.

ETA: also have a chronograph available if anyone's interested.
