how new are you to the 550? My two shooting club members only use their 550s.
Ive owned it for years. Just barely putting it to use now.

Ammo prices and availability have pushed me to fire it up.

Untill recently 99% of my reloading was done on my redding turret press. Making 260 Rem, and 308 win. 45acp on the square deal.

9mm and 223 have been too cheap to justify reloading.

I still have ammo cans full of 223 9mm and 45acp but its time to put the 550 to good use.

The other 1% of reloading was done on a lee hand press in hotel rooms when i traveled for work. Id make 380 and 9mm.

Small batch prepped brass. Sized, trimmed, and cleaned.

Decided to do a small work up on a few different projectiles i stockpiled a while back.

Digging though my bullets i found 75g amax, 68g amax, and 55g varmageddon projectiles to go along with 5k 62g steel core.

I culled a bunch that were beyond reasonable repair.

The one you see may just be an optical illusion but there are a bunch I am hoping the sizing die will fix. Not horrible but may not go into the die and not worth the effort to mess with.

I get HUGE enjoyment from taking messed up cases and straightening them out enough to run through the sizing die (only pistol/straight walled cases). The ones that I can 'save' for some reason make me absolutely giddy with delight.

I have a pair of needle nose pliers that I bought specifically to open up pistol cases taht have had their mouths stomped on or closed. I'll lever them in, and force them open, at which point I put them in the bin with the other formerly malcontents. Once I get 20-30, I lube and run them individually through a sizing die.

LOVE doing this...spend WAY too much time on it, but it's so enjoyable, I really can't stop myself... I have 3ea 5 gallon buckets full of processed 9mm, 1 of 40, and about 2.5 of 45.

No way spending that extra time is in any way 'worth' it to save a piece of brass that might have cost me $0.01 to $0.02 each. Except that it is :)

I do this often. Its like one of my favorite things to do in reloading.

On Monday I moved this(about 1/4 of the whole)out of my garage to the back porch for final drop off in the shed.

My arfcom thread is noname/unknown bullets or something close. Today's job is checking them out.

Got those, I just need to do it. This stuff is close to 20 years old! Some is from Wideners and the pink labeled stuff is from itchytrigger north of downtown.

Any body in the Houston area reload .40 or .45's? In the act of picking up 9mm brass I'm starting to accumulate some 40's and 45's. I have no intentions of reloading those calibers but couldn't see throwing them away if someone else could put'em to use.
