Finally managed to get my loading room set up adequately to put together 100 .308 Win precision rounds for my bolt gun on my turret press. 125gr SMKs over IMR-3031 in Peterson brass. Loaded long to end up 45 thou from the lands, so a bit too long for magazines. Presses have been packed since my move to TX a few months ago. Tomorrow, I'll mount the Dillon and be "back to baseline". Hoping to get to the range late this week and actually pull a rifle trigger again!!

I love smks but I stick to the heavies. 168 and 175 have shot great out of a 20" Howa. The AR-10 isn't as happy with the same load though. Get pretty good case head swipes even though it's nowhere near max.

Kudos to you moon pie! The brass mountains have been growing around my place. It exhausts me just thinking about it. It's a great feeling to batch out a few thousand.

Agree in general. Load 168 and 175 SMKs over IMR-4064 or N-150 for longer ranges. The 125 SMK load is for 100yd precision out of a 23" Bartlein barrel. Example 5-round group at 100yds (bench with bipod) shows why I love it. ;)

Made some hunting ammo for 6 CM. Did an OCW test. Hornady 100 gr btsp and Staball 6.5. Had to seat em deep to line up the cannelure so they didn’t look stupid.

Shot some handloads . 6mm Creedmoor 112’s match burners and 115 Nosler RDF. H4350 and Peterson SRP. Both were trash past 650 yds. Used some factory ammo as a control test. 107 Sierra’s and 107 Normas. Both were hitting quite well at 900. I’m guessing the bullets were maybe too long for my setup and destabilizing at that distance.
:7.5 twist I though would be fast enough. I’ll be loading some 105’s -108’s and re test next time I can stretch em out.

6.5 CM Shot my pet load of Nosler140 custom comp in front of 42.2gr H4350 In hornady brass. I was hitting consistent at 1000. I used some factory Winchester match in 6.5 cm and that was trash past 750.

I have some 112mb also, but for 243win w/8T 22" ar barrel. I can take them out to 2.830", but then again I haven't loaded any yet. QL test looks good though.

I run 115 dtac's from a 7.75 twist with great results out to a mile.
I’ve been trying to find a lot of 100 on those to give ‘em try. I hear great things about them. The 115 Nosler RDF Bullets get mixed reviews and may have just been the bullet itself. Not sure why the 112 match burners wouldnt hit. Maybe the same thing.

My experience with rdf are only the early 105 which are very hit and miss. My batch of 1k or so were solid but they liked a lot of jump.

Went thru 308 brass and Redding 308 Competition dies I bought from an estate. Over 200 Laupua 1x fired and 60 new pieces of brass, and over 300 Nosler pieces of 1x fired brass. Resized and tumbler, then primed and ready to reload about 100 pieces today.
