It’s a Fausti O/U I purchased in a package deal a decade ago when my son was just a kid, thinking at some point we might go bird hunting together. It’s smaller than a 12 gauge so it would have been a perfect bird gun for a kid. It was beautiful and cheap so I didn’t look at it very closely. No box or docs. Unfortunately it never came out of the safe until too late, the child has grown and he is bigger than me now! So what is it? The markings are too cryptic to understand. “15.8” on both barrels mean anything to you? “Fausti Stefano S.P.L. Made in Italy” of course, and “CALIBER MLDFLD-CT” which means what?? The bores measure 17mm at the muzzle with what look like straight chokes. No model I can see anywhere. Any ideas?

Most modern shotguns have all of the information either on the top right or left side of the barrels.
If not, remove the barrels and you will find it on the side or underside. An unmarked over/under is practically unheard of even in a gun of European manufacture.
15.6mm is 20 gauge and the muzzle should be less.
You will have to look closer.
Take and post pictures of all of the markings and I will be happy to look up what I can.
    Nice looking gun.

    Nice looking gun.

Thank you single stack. The pics turned out terrible but here are the markings. The "Inc. Bresciani" on the receiver is pulling up pictures of other very similar looking 20 gauge guns from Zoli, which traded used in the +$1,000 about ten years ago. That sounds about right?

    - Left Side markings:
Top Barrel "FAUSTI STEFANO S.R.L. MADE IN ITALY"
Top Barrel below the handguard: "CAM.76" and "15.8" and a tiny proof mark
Lower Barrel below the handguard: "KG1.250" and "15.8" and tiny proof mark

    - Right Side markings:
    Bottom Barrel, right side: "CALIBER.MLDFLD.CT"

    - Receiver markings just ahead of the trigger guard: "INC.BRESCIANI"
Serial number begins with a B.
Chamber is 3" deep and 18.9mm diameter. Barrels are 26" long.

    Thanks again.

    My best guess:
Fausti Traditions 20 gauge shotgun, many sold through Walmart for $500-$600.
Cam 76 is an Italian abbreviation for a 3" (76mm) chamber.
Kg1250 is the level of the proof test.
CALIBER MLDFLD-CT is the U.S. importer from Connecticut.
I'm a bit surprised that It doesn't have screw in chokes.
FYI, 26" barrels are a good length for upland shooting.

    I don't understand 17mm muzzle diameter or 18.9mm chamber.
Did you measure the outside of the barrel?
    Still a good looking gun.

Thanks again single stack - that sounds spot on. btw Yes on the screw-in chokes. It fits the blue book description for a Fausti Traditions Field gun.
