Hey! I spent some quality time with a rental FN-15 today, deciding if I want to jump into 5.56. Not sure if it's worth getting into another caliber with so many good 9mm carbines out there.....

So much better to build, it’s very easy and fun. At least build your lower and buy a complete upper. If this is your first, buy once, cry once.

If you want to build one, I can help or let you borrow some tools. We're probably less than an hour apart. It really is the way to go. Plus when you're done, you can have some pride in it, and you'll know how to fix it when something breaks

If you're gonna keep it forever there are few negatives to building your own. If you think you might sell it in the future get a decent factory rifle. Few people will want someone else's LEGO project unless it is at a severe discount.

I don't trust my mechanical skills enough to build one quite yet. But, if I do, I know a guy nearby who builds quite a few each year....including Class III stuff. My thing is deciding what furniture I want for it. I'm the type that would have M4 from the barrel forward and A2 from the barrel backward.....

I'll have 2500 bucks into it probably by the time it's all is said and done.
