    Gunz are icky.
Going to hunt doves in an area that only allows non-toxis shot.
Do you know how difficult it is to source non-toxic shotshells in shot size appropriate for dove birds? Well I do now.
Finally found some #6’s on-line. Ordered some. I prefer smaller shot but they’re just not available. They make them. Just nobody has any in stock.

I picked up a few items at an online auction over the weekend. They include three guns:

A World War I Colt commemorative 1911 - The Battle of Belleau Wood version, like new & unfired. I got this at about half the price I have seen them sell for on GB. I had bid on it and then stopped bidding as I had set an auction bid limit on myself for $1,200 and had other guns in the auction I wanted more plus a bunch of other stuff. That was until my son texted me and said it had a pretty low bid relative to what they go for, so I bid another $25 on it and wound up with the high bid.

A Colt Detective Special (2nd variation) made in 1955. That is the year of my birth and I am the second of three siblings so the gun being made in that year and it being the 2nd variation seems to have fated me to successfully bidding on it. Told it is in 98%+ original condition. The only thing not to like about it, and that is definitely not original, is that it is stamped on the bottom strap with N.H.P.D. I am guessing that is for New Haven Police Department as CT is the next state over from NY where the auction was held but it could be any local PD with NH as its initials.

A Chinsese SKS with a synthetic folding stock; this one in 90% condition with a bright shiny bore and I got it with a bid of $200 (plus buyer's premium, shipping and FFL on my end). Wish it had the original stock but still not bad by today's prices for an SKS and it has the bayonet which is a plus should there ever be a zombie apocalypse and I briefly run out of ammo :50cal:! I am quite hopeful that it has an AK mag and that the mag is not one with that weird extension to hold it in place in lieu of a normal SKS mag. There were some versions that used AK mags, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. if it is not an AK mag, I will get myself a regular SKS mag and replace it.

    China SKS R copy.jpg

    The other stuff was varied:

Eight 30 round AK mags (and there is a good possibiluty two are East German - which would be nice collectables), a 5 round AK mag, three 22 LR mags for AR style 22 rifles, two 10 round AR mags, an early Russian AK bayonet with scabbard, and SOG folding knife new in the package, several gun related books and some books on the old west, two WWII military field telephones (my son had me bid on them for him), a Galco Escort Waistpack new in package (which ironically had an AMT Hardballer listed as the first pistol, of several, that it fits and I had been bidding on an AMT hardballer but did not have the high bid); a Galco inside the waistband 1911 holster new in the package and finally a Hornady set of reloading dies in 30-06 new in the unopened box.

When it was all over, I had bids amounting to over a grand more than my limit! Shame on me for not controlling my impulses spending more since Christmas is just around the corner more or less.

I need an extra clip. What section is the section where we can buy on here? If someone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. I'm still sorta new here and I don't get on here as much I want to.

    Welcome to the board.

To buy clips or magazines from other members, start here and here and then you'll wind up perusing ads here.

You'll need a few more posts on the board before you can do any business successfully.

I ordered the below listed ammo yesterday from the Target Sports USA Ammo Day sale (which supposedly was a one day sale but continued today until 12 noon EST today; I would have sworn we were in daylight savings time right now). There was a lot of hoopla made by TSUSA in advertising emails prior to the sale but I have to say that what calibers they had in stock, and what of that was actually on sale, and how they did it by offering different sale ammo and three different sales time slots over the course of yesterday was ludicrous. Sure it was nice to get an extra 8% off over & above the usual ammo club savings but I think they really ran the sale poorly and in my estimation in a lemonade stand run by a 6 year old would be run better. Let's face it, a kid would offer a lot of ice-cold lemonade in the summer season and if a little experienced might also offer some other cold drinks like bottle water, iced tea and so on; so, you'd think TSUSA would have offered a lot of hunting ammo being hunting season is just about here; there was some but not much choice that I cold find that was included in said sale.

A 200 round case of Federal Power-Shok 30-06 Springfield 180 Grain Soft Point Ammo (my son asked me to pick him up a couple boxes of 30-06 ammo).

Two 1,000 round cases of New Republic Training and Range 9mm Luger 115 Grain FMJ Ammo (one case for me and one for my daughter who just passed her probation officer training and was issued a Glock 19 and wants to go to the range ASAP).

A case of 1,000 rounds (in two 500 rd boxes) of Winchester USA 5.56x45mm NATO M193 55 Grain FMJ Ammo; 500 Rounds Value Pack

A spam can of Barnaul 7.62x39mm 123 Grain FMJ Lacquer Coated Steel Case Ammo, 700 Rounds (anyone know how this compares to Wolf ammo, quality-wise)

Five boxes, 100 rounds total, of Federal Power-Shok 308 Winchester 150 Grain Soft Point Ammo.

I cannot recall the last time I purchased 4K rounds in one day and none of it was 22 LR. After buying three guns and a lot of other stuff at an auction this past weekend and now this, I doubt I'll be buying any guns or ammo for a while but I will admit that the the monkey on my back is a strong one so who can tell when it will steer me to buy, buy, buy!!!

I see that steel shot is often available. Of course, your gun needs to be able to handle steel down the barrel. If you can use steel shot, Target Sports USA has this for sale:

    It's #8 steel shot.

    Academy has this:

Posted those in the event you want to pick up a supply for the future.

Probably harder to find if you're not using a 12 gauge.

After breaking a chinesium POS sight pusher, Ibought a Real Avid. A few months back I switched my EDCs over to shield plus. One came from the factory with a rear sight that was not centered. This sight pusher is the only one that could move that thing. I am absolutely impressed and feel like it was worth every cent

I also finally got new Warne scope bases for the fn mauser. I was able to mount up a nikon and will take it to the range to sight in

Ordered one of the ScopeCoat double thickness (6mm) scope condoms for my Whiskey-3.
I don't know why so many of the others are so damn thin.

Got me a few rounds of 22lr. 4,350 to be exact. Wanted an even 5000 but they were down to 87 50rd boxes by the time I ordered. $2.91 a box. 1500 fit nicely in each of these small cans, which leaves 1,350 for the range bag. Slowly getting my stock up to a respectable level. And I grabbed a couple more TX22 mags.
