I ordered a set of 2020 factory Colt Python walnut target grips from Altamont.

Even grips are backordered these days. :(

I'll wait as long as it takes though, because old crusty Python grips are $300.

What are you going to mount the sightmark on?

Trying to decide. Was leaning towards a 300 Blk AR. But now I'm not sure. I thought maybe a 224 Valkyrie AR, but I think I want to keep that long range for antelope. Likely the 300 as I plan to hunt mostly pigs with it, and my shots are no more than 130 yds.

    300BLK is nice.

    Highly recommend.

Don’t forget the can and to SBR it.

I am shooting 220 gr roundnose with my 300BLK and a can. 10.5” barrel and SBR’d lower. But I have some 208gr HP’s I want to try. I found the lancer 300BLK subsonic mags work great with the 220gr bullets.

I may try some 168gr gamekings in supersonic mode. I know the Aussie brand 125gr HP’s are pretty nifty.

I have an ATN I have been trying to figure out what to put it on...
Maybe once I get my trigger reset issues on the 458 socom fixed I’ll use it on the thumper round...405gr flat point.
But the 6.5 grendel has a lot of potential.

Finally got around to unpacking the 30-30 and new to me hot 165gr .45 rounds. Also picked up a pair of closed foam Highwild rests. I think it’ll be super to throw one in the range bag and leave it there until needed. Cool design and super reasonable for two.

How do hot rounds, and low recoil, go together?

Yeah- I’m trying to figure that out as well. I just re-read the published specs and Federal states 1069fps/412ftlbs at the muzzle. As you well know, I’m sure, for a 45acp, that’s smokin’. It’ll be interesting to feel the “low recoil” this weekend.
