Lost in East Texas Elhart Texas
1980s up until about 1991 apparently:

Apparently they were a short run and just for a few years. Cool. Good information to have. Like I said, I wasn't aware they offered them, and have never seen one personally.

a couple norinco AK's at a garage sale a couple years ago for $400/pc. I had already bought a Beretta, Mosin, and Mini-14. Still kicking myself for it

The Guns I wish I bought, are really just the “guns I wish I bought while there were still cheap,” like a couple of $100 Mosin Nagents (spelling?)

I did get to help a friend make up for the gun he wished he bought, a genuine No 5 Mk 1 Jungle Carbine. He passed up on one decades ago and could never find another. I found one at a gun show, almost all numbers matching except for the magazine. Got for 400 and gifted it to him. He kept it for a couple of years and gave it back to me. Said he got his fill and wanted to make sure it got a good home in case something happened to him.

I missed a CZ550 with Mannlicher stock about 2 years ago for five hundred Georges, now it would take at least a grand! I also lost auctions on a couple of 1911s full engraved by Lisa Tomlin for about a grand, now it takes at least two of them!

Had a chance to buy a S&W 625 Mountain Gun in 45 acp. The price was reasonable, but I passed because I already had one in 45 Colt and 41 mag. Went back the next day, but it was gone. Haven’t seen one since, but even if I did the price would now be $300 or more higher.

A shop in Houston had a Gold Cup for $300 in 1978. It was over my budget at that time so I settled for a Government Model. The other purchase I regret not making was a Dan Wesson revolver.

A Colt Trooper in 357 just like this one. Saw it in a local pawn shop just before the China virus hit.

I forgot about the days when you could get a yugo SKS for $150. Some company was selling them by the crate. Almost bought a crate but bought a guitar instead. Sold the guitar during the divorce though.

When the SKSs were retailing for less than $100 back around 1990, I was able to buy a full case for $800. I removed the lid of the crate, and replaced it with a large piece of Lexan. Made for a pretty cool coffee table that started it's own conversations.

I wish I’d bought 10 cases of SKS’s back when they were right $125. That and a 40’ container of ammo back when ammo was Really Cheap. Oh well live and learn!!!!

I was tempted to buy one of the Mosin Nagant PU Sniper rifles (turned down bolt and fixed power scope). IIRC they were $400ish when the plain jane 91/30's were going for $79. I was poor as f**k at the time so the PU was not to be. Don't really see the PU's anymore...

I feel your pain. In the 70's I had a chance to buy a 1956 Crown Victoria that was in awesome condition for $200 and didn't have the money.

    It’s fun reading this thread.

Many of the guns listed I’ve owned at some point. But my one gun I never bought, but always wanted, and talked myself out of multiple times?

    PS90.

It’s utility was something easy to question. Aside from home defense and pure enjoyment I couldn’t convince myself of a practical use. So I walked away at least 5 times.

And yet here I am talking about it. If I had stupid money I’d probably buy one.

Woolworth's in downtown Houston had barrels full of M1 Garands at $225 and M1 carbines at $150 back in the 1980s.

When Target stopped selling guns, they put a lot of nice shotguns and rifles on sale. I just didn't have the cash at the time to buy more than one. I got a Winchester pump shotgun for $150.

Got a call from a friend to stop by a local shop because a guy was selling a pistol. He had a Colt 70 model 1911 that had been "melted" (all edges rounded), beautifully blued, with ivory grips, everything carefully fitted, and a fantastic trigger job. Guy was a holster maker and included a very nice holster. It was just more money than I could justify at the time, but it was the kind of pistol that you dream about after seeing it.

The PS90 is just one of those guns that everyone gravitates towards. I carried mine at the GOA Texas rally at the Capitol a couple years ago. Gun owners in the rally and people off the street would point it out and ask questions. It's a hoot to shoot. Those little 5.7's are like little laser beams. You won't regret it unless you actually want to shoot it @ current ammo rates.
