Fucking hell, why does Hyundai have to rivet their speakers to the door? Swapped the blown speaker in my wife's Veloster for a decent one. On the Veloster forums, owners have been reporting they blew their speakers in the first months, had them replaced under warranty and promptly blew them again.
Just drill out the rivets, they said! Well can't drill them if they just spin. can I. Hacked them off, pulled the custom speaker frame out, gnawed the factory speaker out, then "adjusted" the rear hole for the much larger magnet on the Pioneers, epoxied and bolted the speakers into the custom frame, epoxied and bolted the frame to the door frame, re-assembled the door, gave all controls a function test, and that took me about 4 hours, damn.
Maybe I'll do the other side next week.

A lot of car manufacturers started riveting speakers, or their housings and door regulators to the doors at least ten to fifteen years ago. Hated them damn rivets. And yes, if you tried drilling them out, most of the time they would just spin on you.

Moot point now, until I get a new set of drill bits. I think the ones I had where made from cheese curds or something similar. I'll probably do the other side next week. Or whenever she blows out that side? I'm surprised it's been holding up that long.

    Out here by the lake!
I had my oil change and a switch replaced on the clutch last week. On the way home I figured I needed a new stereo because my CD player long ago died and there’s no radio stations out here I want to listen to.

Ez-E suggested Crutchfield so I broke down and ordered a new stereo and speakers. Its set to be here tomorrow. Later in the week Ez-E said he would do the installation.

    replace driver side blinker bulb.
    Change out spark plugs
    oil change
    change out brake pads
Took it to the shop for belts, radiator and transmission fluid flush.

    Mine - 2015 Subaru Crosstrek:
    Change out brake pads
    brake fluid flush
    Oil change
front and rear differential fluid flush
    About to do spark plugs.
After that, gonna take it to the shop for belts and CVT trans flush.

Both vehicles are nearing 100k miles. Did what I could on my own and i believe i saved up to hundreds of dollars.

After 20 years the wire grid under the drivers seat that holds the seat foam up finally gave way. For a couple of days I was sitting on the rails. Looked online last night and quickest I could get a replacement part was next Tues/Wed. Due to my abundance of Portuguese ingenuity, I took out the seat and fashioned my own grid. Works great and now.
Still need to change out the transmission fluid :)

Got new shocks, struts, and sway bar put on my 2008 F150. Kinda expected the originals to last more than 188K miles....

....now my truck sits about 2" higher. Makes getting in a chore and getting out an adventure. May have to put on those running boards after all.

Two more applications of Mequiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax, you should have seen the water beading off when I ran through some rain. Didn't have to dry the car, car dried itself.

Finally added a 'Satoshi' style grill to my 4Runner... pics as ordered include old, cutout of the replacement (lots of bondo, sanding, epoxy), finished product. Cost me about $200, including the emblem whereas if I were to purchase one of these ready made they run about $600.

Finished my solar install. Just waiting on my Goose Gear XL slide for the Snomaster fridge. 320 watts of Renogy panel mounted to a Rhino Rack. Rear seat delete is a Goose Gear 60% side. Battery is a 200ah size 4D agm. Will move up to a Lithium after I exhaust this one. Can’t wait for my Alu-Cab 3.1 and 270 Shadow Awning to arrive.
