Retiretgtshit stirrer
Fucking hell, why does Hyundai have to rivet their speakers to the door? Swapped the blown speaker in my wife's Veloster for a decent one. On the Veloster forums, owners have been reporting they blew their speakers in the first months, had them replaced under warranty and promptly blew them again.
Just drill out the rivets, they said! Well can't drill them if they just spin. can I. Hacked them off, pulled the custom speaker frame out, gnawed the factory speaker out, then "adjusted" the rear hole for the much larger magnet on the Pioneers, epoxied and bolted the speakers into the custom frame, epoxied and bolted the frame to the door frame, re-assembled the door, gave all controls a function test, and that took me about 4 hours, damn.
Maybe I'll do the other side next week.
A lot of car manufacturers started riveting speakers, or their housings and door regulators to the doors at least ten to fifteen years ago. Hated them damn rivets. And yes, if you tried drilling them out, most of the time they would just spin on you.
