I tried “Googling” it but didn’t get a very satisfactory answer. Based on some of the comments made at the end of the article, it does appear to have something to do with electronic [heat producing] equipment. So, based on that, I’m surmising it’s some kind of centralized {regional} location of maybe internet server nodes. (Of course, I could also be way off base).

And if all the snide comments from the article are taken at face value, Dallas does seem a rather peculiar place to locate such a thing. Even OKC or Kansas City has many more days of colder temps than we do.

Of course, it looks like the city of Red Oak just about “gave away the farm” as far as property tax abatements are concerned. And the promised employment doesn’t ever look to be too significant. (It appears, just a few computer / server technicians). Whatever....

I'm not sure that second article was in English...

Google is building a data center here to better support their cloud infrastructure in this region. Evidently they're doing a second one. But the same county doesn't make any sense to me.

I live in that zip code. Maybe this explains why Ovilla road is being expanded from 2 lanes to 6 + a turn lane.

    **removes tin hat**

Probably not, I just don't understand why we need that much concrete here when other areas are expanding much more.

Is a bit barn where a data wrangler works?
It is a barn where you store bits:
