What is there to do in Del Rio?

I'm going to be in Del Rio this weekend and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on things to do. Anything historical to see? Anything touristy? Any good restaurant recommendations? Do they have a flea market?

...and no I'm not going to cross the border.

Unless you want to go fishing or purchase controlled substances, there's not a whole lot to do in Del Rio.

Wow... Lake Amistad is awesome. I didn't get to do any fishing, but did go swimming. The water is nice, it's big, and its not crowded at all. I will definitely return with a boat

I went to Val Verde winery. Supposedly the oldest in TX. The winery itself was a bit boring (the only wine they had that I liked they don't even use their own grapes for), but I really like the part of town it was in. There's an irrigation system fed by the San Felipe springs that runs through everyone's front or backyard in that neighborhood. It was quite nice.

I also went to the Whitehead Memorial Museum. This was more fun than I expected. They had lots of interesting things to look at and the layout of the building was interesting. I didn't get a chance to goto the Laughlin Heritage museum. Maybe next time.

The REASON I did this to my Yugo SKS is because I plan on getting a very nice Russian one and NOT modding it out. But still, my tricked out SKS looks pretty sweet.

First, whats to do in Del Rio....Herpes & Aids made the cat houses in Acuna off limits to thinking males, the cheap Mexican beer can be bought in Del Rio, but not as cheap, and the lake on the Mexican Side is likely swarming with cartel gunmen runnung or trying to run dope.

Now the Simonov SKS...To each his own....That one weak point is the 10 round , piece of doo doo magazine....Mine's modified to take Tapco 10, 20, rounders modified to pop in and out like an AK magazine....Also modified with a Barska receiver cover with scope mount that DOES hold zero....Oh, and its a cross between a Norinco and a Yugo.....Buy an accurate shooting firearm....Bubbied somewhat, its mine, I can used it for a baseball bat if I wish...

Oh there was one other thing I forgot to mention... There was some kind of food cart competition going on downtown. It was $5 to get in, but I did get some free food. Lots of folks around, some live music; it was fun but nothing too exciting. There was one cart making cheese steaks on Texas toast. Those were damn good.
