Usually it's a G17 with factory night sites. Every once in a while I put the 1911 there for nostalgia's sake, plus I have better self defense ammunition for the 1911. Some day I want to get a light for the Glock and put it on permanent night-stand duty.

When I get an 18.5" barrel for my Maverick 88, I'll be using that too.

For me it's usually my Springfield XD9 loaded with HydraShocks or a 1911 loaded with Hornady TAP's. There is also always a Streamlight Scorpion tac light and a spare mag within reach.

If that won't get the job done, a Remington 870 loaded with seven rounds of 00 buck is not far away.

I do not have a designated nightstand gun. I simply remove my carry gun and put it on the nightstand at bedtime.
My designated bedside flashlight is a Surefire 9P with 120 lumen bulb.

Same type of deal here. Except I have a 6P flash light.
