I have an ever growing collection of rounds that go "click" but not "boom" i.e. primer is dented but nothing happened. They have occurred for various reasons in various arms in various calibers. I guess it just something that happens over time. I didn't want to drop them with the brass at the range so I have kept them. What am I "supposed" to do with them? Should I just pull the bullets out and reuse them? Dump the powder and put in new primers? I have been "gearing up" to start reloading but keep having other projects first so I haven't done anything like this before. Advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I throw them in the trash, or stock tank, or ground.

Sounds like your best bet is the trash can.

Haha. Well, I guess that's an idea, just throwing them away. That makes the most sense rather than doing work to reload 6-7 rounds that aren't even in the same caliber, but I never thought of it.

Pull the bullet, dump the powder, gently deprime (possible to go off but minimized if gentle and slow). Then keep brass and bullet for future reloading.

If you don't reload, toss in trash or designated spot if range has one.

Last thing I'd do to a LIVE round is drill a hole in it...

Whatever you do, do NOT use a kenetic bullet pulled with a 'dud'. It can still go off.

How so? I pull bullets from live rounds and have for years. The kenetic bullet puller I have is set up to do that. I thought they all were. Nothing touches the primer. 'Splain please>

I guess it could go off if you hit the puller head on the concrete .............. primer first!
