How was this type of rifle used in the militaries of the world? As a general issued rifle or was it used as a sniper rifle in any way? (Since it's a higher caliber)

It was a general issue when 7.62x51mm was the NATO round of choice. eventually 5.56 came in and everyone switched to a 5.56 platform

It would appear that any made by HK are gonna run well over 1-1500$
I've heard so much about the bad quality from century arms
And the PTRs are running pretty expensive in my opinion. I'm looking in the $800 range

I got my CETME 15 years ago +\-

It is a great shooter that I use rather than depreciating my mint HK 91.

But I sure got more satisfaction shooting the HK. Don't know if the HK was REALLY any better, or if it was just the HK snob in me. :)

It's a good gun I like mine but it is t going to win any accuracy competitions. I went and bought a new trigger pack and safety to get some of the trigger sloppyness out. I get about a 2 in group at 100 yards and I've been starting competition shooting and learned how to shoot better. I had a vortex 1-4 on it but decided to just use the open sights with it.
