What's a Remington 40x worth?

Found a Remington 40x stainless 1:12 7.62 barrel, wood target stock with internal mag, and blued receiver.

It's an older model but appears to be in good shape. I think the rifling is fine.

What's it worth?

I've checked everywhere and can't get a real answer GB is useless pretty much. I've called people nobody knows. Everyone wants 1000-2000 but no bids on GB.

i find threads where people ask and you never see answers.

There was a time they were sought after but in today’s crowd not so much. Cool to own if you have one or can get one cheap. But to pay a premium just not worth it.

There you go, GB was not useless after all. You now have a good idea that $1,000 and up is probably too much to ask. GB does show a good number of Remington 40X rifles sold over the past year, just very few in 308/7.62. You might get an idea of value by looking at what those in other calibers (just not 22LR which are in a price class of their own) sold for by using their advanced search page.

You probably already know this, but gun broker allows you to view completed listings if you go to advanced search, helps a bit with comps for valuation
