Well they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, to get you on a good start towards the things you need to do.

When I still lived at home, my stepmom was a wonderful cook and made everything from scratch. During the week, she usually made fairly us a fairly simple breakfast. But in Saturday and Sunday, it was like the buffet at IHOP, only way better! And it would vary on what we had. Sometimes it might be pancakes, steaks, pork chops, always biscuits, sausage, ham or bacon, hash browns, sausage or country style gravy, lots of eggs cooked several ways, and quite a few other things too.

Dad made sure we didn't get too fat on our stepmom's cooking, because he worked us like rented mules around the farm on the weekend!

I still enjoy a good breakfast, and the closest I can get to those meals now, is to fix them myself. I like to make biscuits from scratch, and fried or scrambled eggs cooked in bacon grease. When I eat breakfast, there is a pig and a chicken involved it it!

    So what's for breakfast?

I like eating a big breakfast, not that my fat ass needs to any longer. I agree about pork meat being almost essential. I hate grits without meat, cheese or shrimp. Best breakfast throw down I ever ate as in RSA. Never seen lamb chops for breakfast since & that was along side with pork chops, sausage & bacon. (I should have left the stewed fruit alone)

When I was working it was cold & meat cutters/butcher burn a lot of calories trying to stay warm. (near trust a skinney meat cutter/butcher)

After I first got married Sunday Brunch was a big deal. I could destroy a plate of lox in no time. I like a proper English breakfast or Irish breakfast or American country breakfast.

Cereal & toast don't make a breakfast nor do energy drinks, smoothies. A bottle of Coke & Excedrin was a frequent breakfast when I was young.

Same thing I've had every morning for the past 4 years, except for a handful of exceptions.

Skye, the mongrel, enjoyed some Purina One True Instinct Turkey & Venison with most of two chicken drumsticks and a thigh mixed in with it and a little warm water. She liked it, it disappeared in just about no time.

Then for me, I cooked up three eggs over easy in butter (butter the food stuff of the gods), a couple of pork sausage patties, soft Jewish seedless rye toasted with butter in the pan, and a couple mugs of coffee. Oh yeah, OJ mixed with orange-cream flavored seltzer to start off. Pretty delicious and satisfying was it all.

I've traveled most of the last 24 years building restaurants and retail stores. I've been in almost every state in the union and built something in most of them. When traveling I would eat a Mac D's breakfast biscuit, o j and coffee. At home I would have waffles, bacon, toast and coffee. Now that I'm retired, I have, some of the below, cereal, toast, bacon, sausage, fried eggs, o j, coffee and/or waffles. Or, when open, I would go to my local family restaurant and have eggs, toast, pan cakes and biscuits and gravy.

Left over sirloin with fried potatoes and onions, scrambled eggs and cheese, in flour tortillas with green chili. Starting off as a good morning today!

Dog got me up to early & went back to bed with the wife. I think I'll make a smoothy now & biscuits & gravy when they both git up. Old age has me cheating on biscuits this morning.

The dog tricked you out of bed, then got back in with your wife?

Sure the phuc aint room for the 3 of us! He didn't last very long in there. The computer is in the next room & he hears the keyboard he would rather be with me. Now he's laying next to me pouting because I'm drinking a smoothy & not eat something he might get a scrap of.
