Anybody have any idea what a National Ordinance 1903A3 is worth? I'm thinking about selling mine even though its probably not worth much.

I've always read that NA '03s were only worth ~$300 tops. And I already posted it in another thread, but hey you can never whore your gun pics enough right? :D

The best pic I've got right now:

It really seems to depend on a lot of things. I've seen 03A3s anywhere from $350 up to $800 depending on condition, matching #'s, etc.

I suggest doing a lot of research if you want the full value.

03 's are great, do not buy a National Ordinance. I hate to bash something someone else might love, but National Ordinance never made an 03 Springfield. It is a parts gun and I wouldn't give them $150 for it. Most of them won't head space. I have seen quite a few that are unsafe to shoot. In no way is it a collectors item. For the price they are asking you would expect to buy a Smith Corona with the original blue - one that wasn't re-arseneled for the second War, something mint. I paid $325 for mine two years ago. It's a Springfield, re-arsenal with a 1944 barrel. It's not mint , buts its a shooter.

Well, I already have it. I bought it a while back without doing any research first :o

I need to get the headspace checked and start shooting it though, I'm tired of it collecting dust in the closet.

Hope you didn't go to deep on it.
I have a Blue Sky Import 308 Garand that I sure with I wish I would have researched better. I bought the gun for a fair price, but them had to replace the operating rod to get it to funtion right. I also have a Universal Arms M1 carbine, luckily its highly modified and shoots great. My Fal is also a good shooter even though its on an unmarked reciver. All of these are parts guns, you get them cheaper that the real deal and take your chances.
I agree, if you already own a National Ordinance then have the headspace checked and then keep it to shoot. I have picked quite a few of them up at gun shows and thought seriously about laying down the money. They are fun guns and since its not a collecters item you won't cry when it gets some scratches and dings. :) The best guns are the ones you actually use. I have a P-17 Enfield in 30-06, an 03-A3 and a 03 Springfield. All good to reach way out there.
