I'm looking for a .45 ACP semiautomatic pistol to meet just 4 criteria.
1. Must be a standard, cataloged item with absolutely no custom, uncatalogued options.
2. Best possible accuracy with hardball.
3. Must have a way to mount a sight rail over the slide. A picatinny-style bottom rail will do the trick; there are adapters that encircle the slide and give you a rail on top. So will pistols that come with the frame *already* drilled and tapped to accept a rail. (The longer the rail, btw, the better.)
4. No compensator.
I don't care about anything else. Trigger type, handling, weight, size, material - *everything* else is completely unimportant.
Three pistols come to mind for me. There's the Les Baer Bullseye Wadcutter (though hardball would beat it up), the EAA Witness Elite Match, and the older Pardini GT45, from back when they were still putting rail mount holes on the frame.
What others are in that league?
