Thanx guys for all the info. I'm also wondering what's the best way to make black wood or any other wood shiny after sanding?

there is a product called "Fiddle Bright" which is a lubricant and conditioner of some sort that i used to use on OLD string instruments to condition the wood. a little of this stuff goes a LOOOOOOOOOONG way so it might not be too good for fire arms
