Whats this Pig?

I came across this a while back. It's a real Noveske. Except it's alloy and has 14mm left handed threads. Ive never handled the metal one. This one has a funnel inside. It would seem to act more like a megaphone then a flash suppressor.

What does this thing go on? Air soft???

Fuel, IDK the cal. The ones on the sight are steel. This thing is aluminum. I have no idea what takes 14mm left handed threads. It isn't on that sight.

It's for an AK. Has the same baffle as the Bulgarian 4pc Flash Suppressor/Moderator (it's a blatant copy). They work pretty well on my SBRs, the Bulgarian ones anyway..

Ah The Flaming Pig. Its called a flash hider but its more of a flame thrower.

Basically what it does is increase barrel pressure a little in short barrels so there will be enough gas pressure to work the bolt. Aks probably don't need this no matter how short the barrel is.

I though short barreled ARs were generally over gassed.

I'm glad you used the qualifier 'generally'. There are a ton of variables.

It's a knock-off. It should have slots cut instead of wrench flats. 14mm left hand threads would be for an AK model... Third and 4th pics in here are how a 14mm LH model should look: http://noveskerifleworks.com/cgi-bi...&cat=141&page=1&search=&since=&status=&title=

Someone mentioned AKs. Yes, very short AKs tend to need a muzzle device to increase dwell to cycle the action reliably.

A good giveaway is the registered mark is absent. Real Noveske KX3 do not have a letter in their s/n.
