Flat black is all the rage, but there will always be something special about blued steel.

If you're talkin' about the Woodsman, I agree. The barrel is actually as good looking as the frame and slide in person or when a good pic is taken. The problem with that pic was the sorry photographer, etc. (:green: me)

In fact, the last time I shot it (within the last year at the ranch) it still had ammo in the mag. from the mid-fifties. No misfires or feeding issues. So much for the notion of mag springs going bad or ammo deteriorating. :green:

Bought mine new in 1959 at Petmecky's on Congress Avenue. It still locks up tight after untold thousands of rounds and hopefully will do the same by the time my youngest grandson (4) is my age (70):

Recently purchased an older Beretta 70S in .22LR. That is one very nice rimfire. As much as I like my Model 87, I think this 70S is more reliable.

I love S&W revolvers, but I could never could get into the 617.

Favorite was a 1959-produced Single Six that was purchased by my dad in 2006 or so. It was gifted to me in 2007. It was my very first handgun, and my very favorite right up until it was stolen. With the exception of bluing being gone at the muzzle, it looked and functioned brand new. I absolutely loved the sound and feel of the action. Never sent it in to Ruger to get the "safety conversion" bullshit installed.

I still have the grips and .22 magnum cylinder.

Let me know if you need another mag for that. I bought an aftermarket mag in anticipation of a trade deal that never materialized. Factory mags are over $100 IF you can find one!

I'd take you up on that--I've got two gen-u-ine, but another for range fun would be great.
