I looked, but couldn't really find a thread directly talking about beer. Shameful! I sure thought this was Texas!

I have some favorites I like, and for the past few years, have been pretty much hooked on Shiner beer. In the past it use to be Corona. But some years ago, I got exposed to the darker German style beers and really liked them. One of my favorites before trying Shiner was Zeigenbock, and Red Elephant.

Beer also pairs well with Texas style cooking, grilling, smoking and food.

I don't necessarily have a favorite beer, but I have a few favorite breweries. Real Ale in Blanco, TX is at the top of the list though.

    Out here by the lake!
I will say that I have drank more home brew beers that I liked then commercial beers. Also its funny how certain beers can trigger memories. Give me an ice cold Castle & I'm back on safari. Castle Brewing RSA owns Miller & several other labels.

Since I now live in Texas I should drink a Texas beer, right? I really like the Shiner Premium but it is scarce around here. When I toured the Spoetzl Brewery a couple of years ago, I think I remember that it is seasonal or short runs of it. Either way, I can't find it.

So, I have been drinking Lone Star and enjoying it.

They don't make my favorite anymore. It was Shiner Heffevizan. My goto is Shiner Bock but I like several of their beers like the prickly pear and holiday cheer. Final answer is Shiner Bock because I like it and its readily available .

Some of Shiner's beers are seasonal and only available in certain areas.

I just got finished drinking a Shiner Ruby Redbird. Pretty danged good!

Over my 22 years of selling beers on the side I have tried many more then most of you. I'm not a huge beer drinker but it really depends on is available. Another thing is I don't want a beer out of a plastic cup. Beer guys taught me long ago glass or ceramic.

Beer in a plastic cup? That's for kids and keg parties! Neither of which I would be a part of.

I don't even care for beer out of a can anymore!

Having worked for a beer distributor for a few years I've tried a lot. Haven't had one in probably 7 years. When I did partake:
    Shiner
    Sam Adams Cream Stout
    Guiness (room temp)
    Firestone Double barrel
My college golf coaches home brew (almost went to jail drinking that stuff)
    When in Mexico...Tecate

Shiner White Wing was an LTO a few years ago that I absolutely loved. I’d pay good money for them to bring it back. Made the best micheladas.
White wing replaced the Heff. I prefer the Heff but the WW wasnt bad either. Never tried it in a michelada. Thanks for the idea
