My dad used the same shotgun for everything, 870 w/26" modified barrel. He also used the same load on everything, 4 dram equivalent AL 5, 1 1/4 ounce of 7 1/2s. He had an LC Smith 20 gauge that my sister has now that was decent for dove hunting, but I use his 1968 870 now. It's a little shorter LOP than the 1972 870 my wife got me and 2" shorter barrel.

I can't find a picture of the Parker 12 gauge VH I have and don't hunt with.

I aint much of a bird hunter. I used a youth Mossberg 500 20ga for quite a while till I outgrew it. Then I used a Springfield SxS .410 for a while. It's a sweet shootin firearm! I would use it way more if .410 shells weren't so expensive. From time to time, I would use my Gramps' cheapo-Academy-Yildiz SxS 12ga. It's a lot of fun to shoot. Last year I bought a Rem 11-87 12ga w/ RealtreeHardwood camo. It's the bomb.com!!!
