All seem to have solid choices IMHO and as said, don't mess with Texas! And I'm happy to say, its pretty much the same all over the South and South West as well. And not too far behind in the Mid West. There are even pockets of like-minded folk in the socialist-leaning areas of the country.

Interesting that one member cited a 20 guage double barrel. I've got a Stoeger that I used for CAS that I'm going to be putting up for sale here after I get enough posts. Its a solid and very handy little shotty.

Don't really know what homeland defense is, if we are under armed invasion by real troops? Otherwise AR in 308, BO or the 30/30. Cast cost for 308 is 17$/100 so I can have a lot in store. 40SW & 9 is much less $. Last resort is the 12 & 20 pumps, 22lr. Guess I'm covered but they better hurry as I'm not going to be here in another 20 yrs.
Oh, just watched a cartel shootout - not worried in the least. These guys resting the muzzle on the gravel road and run out of ammo. Guess lots of ink doesn't help much.

Any gun in my arsenal that I have ammo for or can get my hands on. AR15 or AK47, I have both. I have bolt actions for both these calibers as well. I also have a Mech-Tech .45 acp Glock carbine and a Glock 21 pistol to go with it, as well as a silencer that fits both. Many others to choose from as well but I keep the majority of my ammo in 7.62 (both), 5.56, .45, 9mm.

I have a good friend that keeps at least one of his .30 caliber carbines handy as well as a Ruger revolver in .30 caliber carbine. It's a nice little set-up. Not too long ago he killed a hog with the revolver at 67 paces! Field dressed, it weighed over 200 lbs!

I wouldn't want to put my M1 Carbine in the line. It was made in 1943 and never went to arsenal rework after the war. It is still in the original configuration. I run a few rounds through it now and then to keep it alive. But, wouldn't want to push it. I like the idea of a .30 Carbine Revolver. Something to put on the wish list.

My Marlin Camp 9. Back up will be my Glock 26.
I like the cut of your jib; however, despite how much I love my Marlin Camp 9, I'd have to go with the new Ruger PCC with the GLOCK mag adapter in . . . especially since your sidearm choice is the GLOCK 26. Being able to use the same mags in both guns is a great boon.

Along those same lines, I've got two Freedom Ordnance FX-9 firearms in 9mm--the full-length carbine and the pistol version--and both use the 9mm GLOCK mags. Paired with a 17 or 19 would be an easy choice.

I'm not saying those would BE my choices, but they deserve strong consideration.

I have a Mech Tech Glock 21 based carbine with 40 round drum magazines and another Glock 21 pistol with various double stack mags. Both can share and both are threaded and use silencers.

Nice to have a pistol and carbine that can share mags. I went with .45 acp as they are naturally subsonic. Using the silencer makes it even nicer!

I may have posted this before but I am getting forgetful. Pardon me if I have.
