Which 22lr to buy?

I'd recommend you take a look at the following:

GSG 1911-22(aka SIG 1911-22). It is the same size as a standard Gov't Model 1911. Relatively inexpensive. Same controls as a standard 1911.
There are other makes of 22lr caliber 1911 out there also that you could try. Rock Island Armory, Kimber, Colt, etc.
The grip can be changed.

Agreed, my GSG 1911-22 is one of the favorite plinking pistols!
