The closest one to home is...

... the Brazos Valley Service Rifle Club. Plan to attend a match and observe, and then join after the 1st of the year and slowly ease into it. Got a brand new rifle that I haven't even zeroed yet, so I'm not ready to "go hot" yet

Looks like the Brazos Valley club hosts Garand Matches, I didn't see anything on their site about AR service rifle matches. Also, it looks like they only shoot 100yds. You should come out to a Bayou Rifles match, they're closer to an 'official' competition course of fire.

Just one that I built. (Well, I assembled the lower, bought the upper, then put on the float tube and sights. then the XTM rail guards) DPMS lower, Model 1 Sales upper with Shaw 1-9 barrel. YHM front and rear flip up BUIS and Eotech.

So with those YHM flip-ups, I assume you can see them through your EOTech?

My Bush master is set up the same way except the Eotec is a little more foward. Anyhow, I can see great using the flips ups viewing through the Eotec.

WHat is that sight on the .223?

    Nice shoes BTW

I am trying it out, it's an Aimshot multi reticle unit. I have to take it back to the range to see if I can zero it in. I zeroed the Eotech on the .223 but later the Aimshot (on the .308) wouldn't elevate enough to get zero. I switched the sights (putting the Eotech 512 and magnifier together) to get the .308 sighted in for hunting. Now, I need to go back and see if the Aimpoint will zero in on the .223..........if not, I'll have to get another Eotech. I do like the multi reticle, you can use a large reticle for day and small dot for night. However, the dot is like 5moa size. It is fine for 50 yards, but I think its a bit big for 100 yards. So, the jury is still out.

Thanks, I like my new shoes.....

Man, you guys have some really nice AR's. I'm building one now, should be getting the upper in mid-December. Can't wait to get it put together and try her out.
