As a general rule under fasting orders you can drink water or coffee/tea as long as its does not contain milk or sugar, be sure to confirm, but I go thru this regularly and as long as I can have my coffee I can hack it.

I made the rookie mistake of getting an afternoon colonoskippy.

Here I was 25 years old dehydrated and shaky ashen white. It was a communal prep room where I was getting fluids because I was baaad... And all these ol geezers smelled blood. Talk about being the butt of every joke.

The VA opens the lab at 5am. One time I guzzled a Dr Pepper before the test. Lol, I wanted to see what it'd do. I was sugerized and they freaked out. Told me not to drink a soda water before the test anymore.
