Specifically a Commander/Full size 9mm. Even more specifically, ten (10) round mags.

I've only bought wilson mags. Never had any issues with them so I never bothered trying any others

No experience with 9 mm mags.

Check-mate makes excellent .45 mags. I believe they make the mags for Sig and Ed Brown as well.

Only had a problem with maybe one 1911 mag, an old no name mag I inherited.

In the 1911 Addicts forum, for 9mm (especially the 10-rd), there are big fans for the Tripp Research magazines (for being reliable).

I have one 1911 in 9mm and I bought Metalform SS magazines, Springfield Style with the front ramp configuration, flat split follower (welded base) from gregcotellc.com.

For my 1911s in 45ACP, I've got more Wilson's and Checkmates than any other brands.

my 9mm 1911 is an older govt model, it’s never failed with oem magazines. i’ll check some of these out, cause 10+1 is better than 9+1.

Checkmate as mention above or Tripp. I used their rebuild kit (cheap) to fix my shitty Kimber mags. They were like butter after.

    Orbitup,
When I checked those out they said ”for tripp bodies only”. Or am I looking at the wrong kit?

Mec-Gar, Checkmate, Chip McCormick, Wilson Combat, and Kimber all make decent 1911 mags. Wilson, Chips, and Kimbers are what I've owned more of than any other brand.

Mec-gar are my goto mags. They make many if not most OEM mags and I've never had an issue with any mec-gar mag.

I did have a few Wilson mags that were shit and wouldnt work in any 1911 I tried them in but that's a rare occurrence. Never bought another.

    Gunz are icky.
    Wilson or Colt factory.

The Tripps I have work but they’re loose in the gun. They wiggle around.
You also can’t teacup hold them. The mag will bind on the bottom of the slide while firing causes jammage. If you keep from touching them they’ll work ok.
Because of that I recommend against Tripps.

Beware of Chinesium mags. There is a crap ton of them out there.
    NEVER buy Pro-Mag.

Check Mate brand is spotty. I have some that run perfectly and some that are junk.

    Wilsons are GTG.
I prefer Colt factory mags as they fit flush and have always worked well for me but they’re not 10rd.
