Don’t assume economic beliefs (capitalism) correlate with social beliefs.
Yes , a capitalist when it comes to his income and lifestyle. And also when he is upset with his employees that won't produce, or act the way he expects. But a self proclaimed Hippie, BS.

That 'don't seem like they want to work' shit ain't gonna be tolerated very long under "socialism" before they are either put to work or in a hole...
Yeah, but that's the difference between the marketing materials and the actual product. Socialism is sold as "you work when you want to, and everybody is provided for! There's no greed, nobody is left out, it's the worker's paradise!" What they invariably wind up with is "You work for us now. You'll get the bare minimum for survival (unless you're one of us, your ruling elite) and you will work when we tell you to for as long as we tell you to. Also, crops are failing because we've tried to apply our economic model to farming, so you'll be working in the fields in your 'spare' time. Failure to do so will result in a bullet to the head."

This is often lost on people, but socialism as an economic philosophy is a transitory state whereas communism is the Utopian end goal. Just about anything goes in the socialism march so long as nationalizing the economy to enable redistribution is facilitated.

The challenge is that economies, like the weather, don’t respond well to commands. Hell we’re just now starting to feel the real impacts that essential worker and work from hone policies had on the basic economy, and it’s going to get much worse before it gets better.

Whatever it is that makes it better in over the next half century isn’t going to be EVs or green new deals or climate shit. The next real, long term recovery is going to be based on something that results in an order of magnitude increase in across the board efficiency and productivity. Think of all the things the industrial revolution changed. Then advances in transportation driven by concepts like the assembly line. Computers (both hardware and software).

All those are examples of what I’m talking about there being widespread implementation of something that results in orders of magnitude improvements in efficiency and productivity. And that’s antithetical to either socialism or communism.

This shows in the left's obsession with controlling the climate. Global warming, global cooling, "carbon credits", the push for renewables which will only fall short of needs...the idea that if they just wish hard enough and make everyone's lives more difficult (and implement socialist controls), they can make the weather stop changing.

Climate is a cycle. Right now we're overdue for an ice age, and eventually it's going to happen no matter what we do. We are part of the cycle, not its controllers. Your favorite tee shirt has as much control over the dryer cycle as we have over the planet's climate cycle.

At least a CEO is speaking out, rather than going woke. Don't know why some folks are being so negative.
That was what struck me; that he feels safe speaking out in our cancel culture society. We're seeing a lot of this lately with corporate CEOs pushing back on wokesters.

    1. Socialists have already taken over.

    2. No worky, no eatie is the natural order of things. Even communism understands that!!!
I think things are turning around and the power of the far left is on the wane. Heard anyone talking about 'defunding the police' lately? Even leftist cities have started to change their 'no bail' laws due to necessity and the public backlash. Liberals are complaining about inflation and gas prices. They're also fleeing blue states for red ones en masse. Formerly deep blue border counties are turning red over the damage being done by the tsunami of illegal immigration. The pendulum is swinging back.

I don't go to Whole Foods anymore. Since I moved to Austin there's a Central Market pretty close to me. They're about the same things as Whole Foods, but they're owned and operated by HEB. They have great meat counters, bakeries and service delis. But they match Whole Foods on those high prices.

Problems which THEIR policies caused... only they don't see it.

Leftists are like locusts... take over a state, ruin it, then move on to another state and do the same to it. (Oregon used to be a nice state, Washington too, but even Idaho is changing now. How do you think Austin got to be blue?) IMO no matter what happens in SATX, Austin and Houston are not going to change!

AFAIK, everybody in the USSR except pensioners (75 rubles) worked. No work, they shoot you. Send you to the Gulag? ... Still gotta work.

They had 100% full employment, no?
Yep they went to a job that they didn't do well because Communism provides you no incentive to be productive. Just like the Democrat party promotes.
