I'm trying to get more involved politically and in an active way.

Who are the individuals or groups in ATX that are active?

I've searched Facebook/twitter. I don't find much. I'm looking for groups to join, people to follow, want to get active in countering the socialists.

There is a group in Austin that i protested with a couple times. They are called T.A.G., Texans for Accountable Government. But I only went with them when i agreed with them, sometimes they do get a little far fetched.

With campaign reform laws in place, the only people who can run for public office have to be independently wealthy.

Small fries no longer have a chance in elections.

I'm too busy to be very active. Of course that's relative. I contact my legislators at the beginning of sessions to let them know how this example constituent feels about general issues, send them a list of bills I personally want to see passed or failed, occasionally contact others in their capacity as committee members or authors, and occasionally post things for publicity on social media. That would seem to put me ahead of 95% of the population here.

I guess not a memember of active group here, though I post tons of political stuff on facebook, write my congressmen and senators. Nearest Tea Party is Waco, was active in the one in Rockford Illinois which was huge, they are the ones that chased down the Demo legislatures of Wisconsin when they left Illinois. Yep, have lost facebook friends because I am a conservative pro gun American.

Haven't done much in previous years, but am diving in to do everything I can to get some pro-gun Texas legislation passed this session. See my site in my signature below....and let me know if you are available because we need lots of people to help move these bills through!!

Unfortunately, I feel that's the situation for a lot of folks on our side of things, they're so busy, working, raising families and so on. The anti-gunners and the left in general seem to have plenty of time on their hands as they take handouts so there is no job to be busy with and are selfish and self-centered so don't have families.

We all need to get more active. (me too)

It depends on what you mean by "politically active". I post pro-gun rebuttals to Yahoo and other site that blast gun owners and gun ownership. I believe the thousands of people who read those posts will be influenced by them. To date, I have over 600 posts in Yahoo alone.
