Hey guys long time no see life has been a whirlwind since I got out of the USMC and started working a civilian customer service job (honestly not a good match for a Marine but adapt, improvise and overcome I shall). But I have this tool on Primary Arms called WIDGET and I was wanting to know what ya'll think. It makes installing a gas tube roll pin so simple its crazy. Simply slide the gas block over the rounded portion of the tool, tighten the set screw into the dimples, clamp the whole thing into a vise and pin in the gas block. Its that simple. This isn't really for guys that are building one or two ARs in their life but for those of us that build several rifles this will save a lot of time. My average time is around 1 minute to install a gas tube, with my best time being 32 seconds!! I am working on getting a video up but this tool is a something that I am really excited about. I'll have better pictures and a video up soon.

Mods if this isn't allowed please let me know where would be a better place to post it..

    What does the widget cost?

The fastest way to get one is from Primary Arms. Search the key word "Widget" they are currently listed for $49.99 unless you are MIL/LEO/VET/First Responder then it's 10% off since SMA is on their MIL/LEO discount program

Doesn't Pachmayer already market a tool called the widget? If so you may need to change name. Thing-a-ma-bob, Gizmo, or maybe Whatzit come to mind.

Good catch I'll have to look into that more and see if that is Trademarked. My tool is patented and is in no way related in form function or design to the the Pachmayr tool but I don't know that that the word "widget" is even trademark-able (if that is a word) both would qualify under the definition as (a small gadget or mechanical device, especially one whose name is unknown or unspecified.) So we will have to look into this and see but thank you for the heads up on that.

So "Widget" is copyrighted and not by Pachmayr interestingly enough but "the widget" isn't according to the USPTO so I'm good to go. Lol maybe we'll use one of your suggestions for the next item I patent.

I am going to have to order one of those myself.

Primary Arms is running a promotion on the .625" tool and still have some of the .750" in stock. Just type in the word WIDGET into the search bar and they'll pop right up. I should have another batch arriving from the manufacturer that's cutting these for me any day now.
