will this fit and function fine on a maverick model 88?

    The Mossberg model should. Be warned - these stocks have a tendency to move too much. I didn't notice a reduction in felt recoil, but had a definite increase in muzzle flip, to the point that the fore end liked to jump out of my hand.

    Only if it comes with the Maverick adapter. There is a slight difference in the way the stocks fit. It should look like an oddly shaped washer/shim.

    I have a model 88 maverick, Idk about that stock, but I have a mossberg 500 side saddle on mine and it works on mine its a 6 pack tac star saddle and on the box it has a list of all of the models it fits, mossberg 500,590, etc., but it fits on the maverick 88
