I had no idea of the massive amount of GOP at any cost bootlickers that were here. Just amazing.
Sad but true. We live in a small mostly conservative town under 10,000 people and during the election it was sickening to see all the Biden Harris signs, and people were vandalizing property where they had Trump flags. Now people are having their halloween yard decorations stolen. One family they hit two days in a row. Don't know if they caught them, but if they did nothing would happen to them.

That’s where I’m at. That motherfûcker is no different than your average Panamanian dick-tater.
I will probably hold my nose and vote for him if he is in the general.
The weight that will tip the balance for me is whether or not the “No jab mandates in Texas” EO becomes law. If it does, he has begrudgingly earned my vote in a general election.

If it ain’t law by now, he’s not calling a special session to address it before the 2022 general election.

“In response to the “GOP bootlickers” comment…”
I’m old enough to remember the votes lost to Perot and independent candidates in 1992because Bush 1 violated his “no new taxes” pledgeresulting in Clinton winning the presidency.

For those “never Abbott” and “I’m voting independent” welcome to the 2022 Texas version of 1992 Election Redux. And welcome your “Fake Beto” as the governor of Texas. That folks is your reality…and unfortunately the reality for the rest of us.

    Personally…
II Abbott understands his executive errors in fully complying with the 2020 CDC mandates.

If Abbott is following DeSantos’ actions and responses to the China virus - I say more power to him as DeSantos did things correctly by putting Floridians ahead of compliance with past and present CDC mandates.

I also like the actions Abbott gas taken regarding voter integrity and the Mexican border invasion.

    Again my 2cents…

#metoo. So what? By design this is a weak governor state. The likelihood of flipping the house, the Senate, Lite Gov, and Gov are infintessimally small. Might even convince the House and Senate to do their actual job while giving the gov a middle finger.

…II Abbott understands his executive errors in fully complying with the 2020 CDC mandates.
He’s had 18+ months to rescind the emergency declaration and hasn’t seen fit to do so yet; the legislature (pûssies that they are) haven’t passed legislation to end it. Tell me what errors Hotwheels understands and what he’s doing about it other than attempting to rule by diktat.

…If Abbott is following DeSantos’ actions and responses to the China virus…
Then I’ll write in DeSantos, since apparently he has Texas’ best interests in mind while governing Florida. Don’t need a follower here, Texas has the second largest population in the US, second largest economy, and second largest land area.

…I also like the actions Abbott gas taken regarding voter integrity and the Mexican border invasion.
Last I checked, no real effect on either front there. Sure, SB1 passed but very little of it does much so long as he leaves that emergency declaration in place which empowers localities to legally do whatever the fûck they want to anyways.

Yeah. Just saw it failed spectacularly in the special session that ended the other day. I am in Nebraska and super busy so did not realize the session ended.
He still has a chance of earning my vote back if he wins in the primary ( read that, then read it again GOP bootlickers, a political scumbag needs to earn your vote)
But it will take work on his part.

Whoever wins the GOP primary will get my vote in the general election. I will probably vote for Allen West in the primary. The Perot fiasco that elected Bill Clinton is a very potent history lesson.

The people that voted for Perot were absolutely disgusted with GHWB. I don’t think most of them would have voted for him even if Perot was not running.

But why is it that the lesson learnt from Ross Perot is always about shifting the blame onto the voters “The Clinton Presidency is our fault because we shifted from the GOP,” when the blame should rightfully rest on the GOP itself, “it’s their fault for disillusioning their base by failing to fulfill their promises to us.”

As did many of my friends and acquaintances. I liked his message but did not want Clinton in the presidency so voted Bush 1.

Unfortunately Independent Perot pulled enough votes from Republican Bush 1 that Democrat Clinton was elected.

    Me, I’m a conservative libertarian.

But I’m also sufficiently politically knowledgable to understand that only a candidate from the two major political parties has a chance to win a national election. All other candidates are wishful voting that will most likely hurt the major candidate most closely matches the “will help me most” or “hurt me the least”.

I also firmly believe it to be more advantageous for non-communists freedom loving individuals to take over the Republican Party by defeating RINOs in all levels of primary elections. That said, I will not support the communist democrats by wasting my vote on a 3rd party candidate. The winners of the republican primaries get my votes.

And many will not waste their vote on re-electing someone who destroyed them.
If your choices are being ruined by both candidates, why would you vote for the one who has already done it?

If the GOP wants to keep Texas red, then they better cull the RINOs from the veldt. Otherwise, what difference does it make?.....

I don't (well, I do) care what you want to do in the general election, but if you don't send a strong message in the primary that a significant portion of the GOP is willing to shift their vote to a stronger candidate like Huffines, then it sends the message that we are as RINO as anyone else. Abbott needs to know that he messed up with COVID.

The 1992 election substantiated that the national elections was a two party battle with 3rd, 4th, and 5th parties, etc. pretty much only affect which of the two parties will win.

This is pretty much why the Tea Party was created - not to be a 3rd party but to move the republican party back to a constitutional foundation.

Unfortunately the Tea Party, like many well meaning 1st term congressman or senators, were co-opted by the DC establishment. By this time the democratic party had moved so far left that they selected the worst of Communism, Fascism, and Nazism and wrapped them up into their progressive socialism mantra while the republican party had moved left of the centerline so that neither party represented mores the majority of the USA‘ voting population.

And it became obvious to all that both major parties bent their knees to Globalism; fully to the detriment of all individual nations.

The republican party has slowly been dragged back to right-middle of the political spectrum but their is still a substantial part of the party fully beholden to Globalism; and they need to be severed from both party and political positions.

If you’re pissed at Abbott and his handling of the 2020 China virus, “have you phoned or written to his office to voice your complaint?” If so, great! If not, why not?

Write or phone your elected representative. Get involved with your local republican party office and voice your frustrations and recommendations in that arena. Make an impact. Cause positive change.

Speaking of failed businesses at the hands of shitbag politicians, I watched my parents lose their entire livelihood and then my father get put into an early grave thanks to the fuckholes at the FDA under a democrat administration.

I can, in no good conscience, ever vote for or support the Democrats in any form or fashion. Anything more I have to say would get me banned from here. I barely support Republicans as a whole and lean more libertarian than anything.

But I cannot and will not abide a democrat take over here and the damage it would do nationwide.

    Those communist assholes can FOAD.

I can't begin to pretend that I understand nor feel your pain due to the loss you've suffered.

    I miss dad every day.
Thankfully, there's no political leanings I can blame for his passing.

I would really like to see a more Constitutional Govenor than Abbot and will, if there is a better Candidate, vote against him in the primary.
But if the general election comes down to him or someone that I know damn well will do even more and worse, I WILL vote Abbot. To do otherwise is like the kid with the ball getting mad at not getting his way so he goes home. With the other team ahead so they win by default.
    All I hear from a lot of people here;
"He made me mad and I want him gone. And if I don't get my way I will make sure the the other side wins and everyone gets destroyed. No matter the cost."
If the Democrats win the Guvenor's office, especially if they make any increases in the House and Senate, they will make Abbot look like a small town hustler. Count on it.
My way or destruction,,,,,,that ain't no much of a choice. But it is a stupid one.
