    What is a good replica of the lever action Winchester in pistol clibers? Not sure of the proper designation.

    That looks like a nice rifle txpete has for sale, it would sure be worth a look especially if you could use the reloading items he has. Also it has the plus of being an actual historically correct pistol and rifle caliber (44-40) from the late 1800s.

    Navy Arms, Cimmaron, Taylor, Puma, Rossi and Uberti are all pretty good. Uberti is actually the maker for many of the replica companies with some of them stamping their name on them.

    As txpete mentioned the 92 is known to be a strong action. The 73 may be smoother, but not quite as strong. I would caution against using real heavy loads in the 73 replicas. You might consider sticking to the cowboy loads, for a little extra safety.

    If you want a really nice 92 or you get one and just decide to have cleaned up a bit, you can talk to Steve Young in Port Arthur, he is well known in regards to his work on 92s.
