I can not WAIT for the short track skating! I've been a fan since the Apolo Anton Ohno days. Like racing gokarts, w/o a motor. :p

I'm on Directv and think I have 2 of the 1st 3 events set to record, who knows, their interface really is not that user friendly. :(

I'm hoping @benenglish or others chime in with some shooting related viewing details.

The only shooting at the Winter Olympics is biathlon, a combination of cross-country skiing and riflery.

If you need an idea what the sport is, here's a one-minute overview:

Just a short note about videos -

In the U.S., NBC has control of how all the sports of the Olympics are broadcast. Videos I show in this thread may come from various sources and I expect that NBC will get around to getting coverage other than their own taken down. For now, though, since so few people seem to care about biathlon, those videos are still up.

The first biathlon event is the mixed 4x6km relay. Norway won, which is hardly a surprise.

BTW - The title of this video is misleading, at least to me. I think they mean to communicate that Norway has won for the second time in this relatively new event. I'm not entirely sure. Nevertheless, only one biathlon event has been completed in China as of the time of this post. The next event is scheduled for Monday, China local time.

Since it'll be a while before the next event, here's some local TV coverage of one of our athletes. You can ignore most of the narration but the video does give you a much closer look at the equipment, especially the targets. If you're interested in hardware, you'll be interested in this. Otherwise, feel free to skip it.

I watched that mixed biathalon The wind must have been Brutal combined with the elevation. I have never seen all those teams miss so much.

The Women's 15km Individual event is now finished. Germany won, followed by France, then Norway.

They'll also get around to preventing their YT videos from being embedded elsewhere. They did it during these winter games quicker than they did in the last summer games. That's odd.

Here's a video for those of you who don't want to be re-directed to YT and/or think biathlon is weird. I just thought this was funny. I know some of you will think it's racist and I can recognize the very mild, benign racism on display...but I think it's mostly just funny.

You'd probably get more of this crowd to watch if you pointed out the oversized, over-muscled posteriors on the ladies in short track...and curling...and...etc. :)

I don't get it; nor do I want to.

NBC's Olympic coverage sucked nadz this year. Thanks for trying Ben, I just couldn't rally behind the team as I have in the past.

If he’s that amazed by the sport, imagine how if he learned a little about its military history.

The Men's 20km Individual event is done, with the medalists being France, Belarus, and Norway, in that order.

Now I'm looking forward to the women's sprint. For the night owls in the audience, it happens Friday at 0300CST, so if you have the TV on in the background while you're posting, you might catch a little of it. :)

The Women's 10km Pursuit ended with Norway first, Sweden second, and Norway third.
