Someone needs to tell these bozos that they can only “buy back” rifles that they “sold” in the first place.

I would be surprised if Wisconsin citizens go for that.

That would be Madison and Milwaukee that did that. Just like Houston, Dallas, and Austin here.

Wouldn't shock me at all. Demographics have changed and their universities are busy brainwashing the youngsters.

The current push by Evers and his cohorts is for UBC and red flag.

This headline (OP) comes from a brief non-committal response to a question about buy-backs. Certainly not out of the realm of possibility, but apparently not as hot a topic as that article implies.

Although Madison is a bit more liberal than Austin, the House and Senate are still Republican controlled, probably slowing down some of the push by Evers and crew. Of course, media bias is coloring the entire topic and many of the lazy, under-informed think UBC and red flag will somehow produce positive results. One of the local radio/web news outlets (where I am) posted the question: “Do you support red flag legislation that would allow judges to have guns taken away from people ruled mentally ill?” and got 132 yes, 38 no.

This article https://www.wispolitics.com/2019/ev...cans-accuse-guv-of-wanting-to-seize-firearms/ presents a pretty good discussion of what went down last Thursday.

The way the question is worded I infer at least some type of due process is involved. But I'm assuming that's not how it would actually happen.
