    Under the bill, applicants would have to pay the state Department of Justice as much as $37 plus another $13 for a background check to obtain a permit. They also would have to provide proof of firearms training, such as completing a safety course or participating in a shooting contest.

    Moved from Il just about a year ago. Illinois folks are livid but it's the only becasuse of Chicago politics, ie Daley, Rahm, Obama and on down that say only the chicago mob should have the guns. Rockford were I lived was voted in the 10 most unsafe places to live. Gunshots daily, murders, drug deals going on from my windows every day. But the politicans can't quit shaking in their books. What if guns are on the streets, well folks guns are on the streets. Let the poor guys be able to shoot back. Glad to be away from that mess. 49 haves and 1 have not and they will say they are right the rest are wrong...
