Half of the country didnt vote for a socialist. What was it 60% turnout?

Thats what im saying. People need to stop being apathetic and get informed, involved and vote.

If we had 60% turnout and things and Obumer only won by a few points...if we just had a couple percent of people on our side who stayed home or cast a protest vote actually get out and vote then obumer wouldnt be in office. Just a couple percent, a few million people out of what 200M eligible voters?

Correction- Over half of American VOTERS. Republicans will have to run an actual conservative to get actual conservative voters. I voted for Romney only because I didn't believe he could be any worse than Ovomit, that was a "protest vote".

As i was in traffic this morning i just kept thinking...how dont ALL of these people, leaving their homes early in the morning to go work, how dont they all vote for less government and lower taxes?

We have to vote folks. Get your friends, family and everyone who is a worker and not a taker out to vote for liberty. If we just actually got out to vote we really could turn this thing around.
More importantly, we need to vote in the primaries. Simply voting strait "R" on election day isn't going to net us anything better than we have today. The GOP has always been for a large federal government; the Democrats just make the Republicans appear to be for smaller government because over the last 100 years the Dems have gone full communist. I think we can reform the Republican party, however... Folks like Cruz, Lee, and Paul give me hope. Problem is Republicans like those guys are few and far between.

If you really expect things to get better through the election process, then we're going to have to do much more than just vote. We need to be identifying and supporting small government/limited taxes candidates very early in their campaigns. It's going to take a lot of work to get the right candidates on the ballot instead just more of the status quo candidates.

Lol. Tell me where to sign to stop paying and Social security as well.
Find a job where you're a 1099 contractor, or start your own business. Then don't report any earnings. This of course is illegal, but the only real way to rebel against the system as it's currently designed is to not participate in it. Economic succession... I see a lot of people on here asking "can we start shooting yet?", and while it may come to that at some point I can't see a shooting civil war as a path to the restoration of a limited constitutional republic. We need to en masse economically succeed first.

Are retired pensioners included? Just wondering.
Are you referring to an actual pension or the SS pyramid scheme? :p

Yes...and no. We need to be involved much earlier, at the precinct level.

Actually, that's a fair question. In my case, I'm retired and drawing a pension that was fully funded over the course of my three decades of employment. I paid a relatively large percentage of my salary into it, an amount matched by my employer. My pension fund is sound and solvent.

I'm not eligible for any SS retirement benefits.

I had another thought on the workers vs takers issue... Doesn't that sound like it's a problem only to a socialist state? "Workers vs takers" is a symptom of the progressive policies that shape our socioeconomic landscape. Perhaps its even part of the design; politicians playing both sides to get votes... but in a free market system it wouldn't even be an issue. People would receive equal to what they produce, and if someone tried to take something by force they would be met with force.

I just find it hard to blame the "takers" when they are just doing what the system tells them to do, and the "workers" continue to enable the system.

Oh, definitely... I think we get too caught up in big elections when the little ones hit closer to home. I admit I definitely need to pay closer attention to local politics, too.

    That's pretty awesome.
