I shoot .45 'cause I like it! More push than snap of the gun. :green: Nine milimeter = 36,000 psi MAP (maximum average pressure), .45 ACP = 23,000 psi MAP

To each his own. Cant argue what your favorite gun is. Just being your favorite makes it better.

"Given desirable and reliable penetration, the only way to increase bullet effectiveness is to increase the severity of the wound by increasing the size of hole made by the bullet. Any bullet which will not penetrate through vital organs from less than optimal angles is not acceptable. Of those that will penetrate, the edge is always with the bigger bullet."

The above is from Paul's post.

I understand that there are many variables that affect the situation, but I will take my glock 30 with 11-14 rds of 230 grain HSTs or Gold Dots over 11 rds of 9mm HPs any day. LOL! Just my choice.

I just can't get on the the 9mm bandwagon when compared with .45. I think
    that with a non-lethal hit,say shoulder,arm,leg,etc., .45 is going to do more
damage than a 9mm. And let's face it,non-lethal hits are likely in a stressful
    situation.

I understand the variables. I don't believe you can make a 9mm move fast enough to make a bigger hole than a .45. I think a .45 impact on a target is going to be more distracting than a 9mm hit. Just my opinion.
If anyone chooses to shoot a 9mm, it's no skin off my butt! LOL!

No skin off mine either. I shoot a 40. It seems their is a lot is a of prejudice for some calibers. As stated all things being equal the bigger bullet makes the bigger hole

Usually, but it depends on speed at exit... if it exits. The wound channel on exit can often be worse (and with less-controlled bleeding).

This is true. Higher velocity is definitely a factor on modern hollow point bullets.

Rule #1 in trauma: always check the back.
