I remember having what was basically a Beretta M9 replica cap gun. It was black and may have had brown on the grips. It used the plastic round strip caps. It had an orange cap on the front that was held on by a Phillips head screw that was easy to remove.

    Out here by the lake!
Yes, cool toys indeed, also had a father who thought it was a great idea teach me a work ethic so I could buy myself the cool toys. Most birthdays & Christmases were things I needed, not necessarily wanted as a kid. I was blessed in having an older brother to get second hand bb & pellet guns from.

My first handgun was a Benjamin pump pellet pistol...loved it. It disappeared under suspicious circumstances...suspect my mother since she was not in favor.
I still have my Sheridan 20cal pump from the same 50s era and still shoots great.
That Benjamin is the only gun I ever lost / parted with.....

I had one of the Mattel lever actions that shot spring loaded plastic bullets. The ammo was all lost by noon Christmas day. My favorites were the Air Blaster that could annoy at 15 feet, and the Man from U.N.C.L.E. secret agent gun that turned from an Instamatic camera to a shooting cap gun at the twist of a knob. And the short barreled P-38's like Napoleon Solo carried.

We didn't have TV but we heard the commercials on the radio. One commercial I will always remember "Be the first to get this (some toy gun) made of genuine, authentic, simulated, imitation, gun metal colored plastic." Wow, everyone needs one of those.

Still got my Sheridan with a cheap Glenfield 4x15 scope on it. Both were bought around 1970.
